JUST LIKE HAIKU
1
nonchalant monkey
busy eating fruit
raises an eyebrow:
single snowflake
drifting down.
2
sound of seagulls,
echoing sea caves –
air-conditioning unit
splutters to life.
3
night rain.
a million leaves
gently clapping

Not sure if you’re aware of this – but one of my favourite jazz lyricists (Don Raye “You Don’t Know What Love Is”) did a book called Like Haiku back in 71. 🙂
These are excellent also.
thanks, Phillip, I will maybe check that out!
“night rain, a million leaves gently clapping” lovely image
Thanks, Bonnie!
I agree with Bonnie!
Hey, I heard those leaves clapping the other night when it rained here.
I thought they were just enjoying my dance down the yellow street line at midnight. Guess not. LOL.
A sign of psychosis: imaging the world is paying attention to us! ( according to the official, sensible, view of things, of course)… But I am sure the leaves appreciated your delight…
