Six Haiku for Timeless Days
——–
Cloud upon cloud
Over the still water
A cuckoo’s voice.
———
The wind
Is the ladder on the horizon
That those tall clouds climb.
———–
The thunderstorm.
In this deserted garden
Only you and I,
Little frog.
———–
Rain running off
A horse’s flanks.
The longest day.
———
Stone, standing
In an empty field.
Waiting, maybe.
———-
My old home
– memories
Where I left them.
———–
I do love well written haiku.
Little frog would have to be a favourite.
I think I agree. I can’t actually recall the time I wrote this, which is unusual – haiku are usually better than photographs for that – but I came across this selection and a few others I had made a while ago and I thought they did the business fairly well. At the same time I found a couple of haiku/travel/photograph projects that I may update to digital from photocopy paper.. Ah the siren potential of e-publishing! ..
